Angelique Camfield was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as the youngest of six children. Her mother worked as a homemaker and later as a paraprofessional, while her father, a former Naval officer, was a certified public accountant who ran his own business.

Angelique's parents instilled in her strong morals, values, integrity, and a dedication to community service. She is the mother of three daughters, whom she encourages to work hard, be honest, and pursue their dreams.

Education and Early Career:

Angelique attended Eastern Michigan University, graduating Cum Laude from the Honors College. She was involved in several honor societies and sororities, including Golden Key National Honor Society, Mortar Board Honor Society, and Alpha Xi Delta.

While studying at EMU, she worked as a Staff Assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Angelique pursued her legal education at Michigan State University College of Law, graduating Cum Laude.

Professional Experience:

Angelique has over 27 years of courtroom experience across various legal fields, such as prosecution, public defense, plaintiff's personal injury, insurance defense, employment discrimination, OSHA and whistleblower litigation, and family law. Her extensive legal experience positions her as a qualified candidate for a judgeship, requiring quick and well-reasoned decisions.

Community Involvement:

Apart from her legal career, Angelique has been actively involved in her community. She has served as a director for Safe Harbor Children's Advocacy Center, Child Care Resources, Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, and Legal Aid of Western Michigan.

Additionally, she has been a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, choir singer, and children's time leader at her church.

Vision for the Future:

Angelique aims to establish a Domestic Violence Treatment Court to break the cycle of violence in families and initiate a county-wide mental health coalition to enhance services for trauma victims and veterans. She advocates for a compassionate yet firm approach to justice, emphasizing the importance of experience in serving as a criminal caseload judge in Kalamazoo County.
