Cristobal “Chris” Padron, a candidate for Circuit Court Judge, has a rich heritage rooted in hardworking Cuban immigrants who arrived in the United States in the 1960s. His maternal grandparents started new lives by selling ice cream and providing beauty services, while his paternal grandfather established a successful accounting business.
Chris's parents, born in Cuba, moved to the U.S. at a young age, with his father pursuing a career as an insurance agent.
Chris faced significant challenges when his father passed away at 45 due to a heart condition, leaving him to support his family and younger siblings.
Chris has been in a relationship with his high school sweetheart for 21 years, and they have been married for 17 years. Together, they are raising three boys.
His wife, a Colombian immigrant and dedicated elementary school teacher, recently earned a master's degree in leadership, driven by her passion to improve the public school system. Chris is also a product of the public school system, having attended Kensington Elementary, Ruben Dario Middle School, Coral Park, and graduating from Braddock High School.
Chris earned a scholarship to Florida International University (FIU), where he showcased his musical talent by playing the saxophone. He graduated Cum Laude in 2005 with a degree in political science and pursued his dream of becoming an attorney by attending FIU Law School.
While juggling a full-time job and family responsibilities, he graduated in 2010 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011, later gaining admission to the United States District Court Southern District of Florida. With 12 years of legal experience, Chris focuses on family law, including dissolution of marriage, paternity actions, domestic violence matters, as well as simple and complex civil litigation and appeals.
Chris is passionate about community service and is a KidsSide Silver Member. He has always aspired to become a judge, aiming to contribute his expertise to the judicial system and make a positive impact on the community.
