Who is Dave Poole?
Dave Poole is the Reform UK candidate for Staffordshire Moorlands. His early life was challenging, marked by the economic downturn of the mid-1980s in rural Cheshire, a region struggling from the aftermath of strikes and mismanagement in the 1970s.
Despite efforts by the government of Margaret Thatcher to revitalize the country, Poole felt these improvements did not extend to his community.

Poole's career began with youth training schemes in welding and vehicle technology, eventually shifting to the nascent mobile phone repair industry. Largely self-taught, he worked at The Caudwell Group's "The Mobile Phone Repair Company" and later at D2D and Celestica UK, handling repairs for major brands like NEC, Motorola, and Orbitel.
Disenchanted with the corporate nature of the industry, Poole returned to his roots, entering the vehicle breakdown and recovery industrya field familiar to his family. Starting with a single truck in 2008, he has grown his business to 15 vehicles, serving the Cheshire/Staffordshire area, without relying on bank loans, even during the pandemic.
Personal Life:
In 1998, Poole married Julie, with whom he has a son. Julie has been a grounding force in his life, supporting his endeavors while maintaining a humorous pact about classic cars and cats.
Political Awakening and Campaigns:
Pooles political engagement was sparked during a drive to Africa when he read a Private Eye magazine article criticizing his local council. This discovery led him to study the workings of local and national government intensely.
His initial foray into politics was met with resistance, facing manipulation on social media and local opposition. However, his perseverance paid off, as he won a By-Election by a narrow margin, defeating a Labour candidate in what he describes as a "David vs.
Goliath" scenario.
