Elizabeth V. Krier graduated with a BA from the University of Chicago and obtained her JD from Chicago Kent College of Law.
Moving to Naples, Florida, in 1985, she practiced in marital, family, and criminal law, specializing as a domestic and sexual violence prosecutor. Krier was Board Certified in Marital and Family Law from 1992 to 1997.
Krier was elected to the Circuit Court of Florida's Twentieth Judicial Circuit in September 2006, taking office in January 2007. Re-elected in 2012 and 2018, she has presided over criminal, probate, domestic violence, dependency, and family law divisions.
Before becoming a judge, Krier served as a magistrate from 2005 to 2006.
Krier has held leadership roles in the Twentieth Circuit and the State of Florida, serving on Florida's Statewide Dependency Court Improvement Panel and the Judicial Management Council. She received the Community Advocate of the Year Award in 2011 and was twice nominated for Florida's Gladstone Award.
Active in her community, Krier has been a trustee at North Naples United Methodist Church, a member of the North Naples Rotary, and a graduate of Leadership Collier and Leadership Southwest Florida. She served on the Leadership Collier Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2014.
