Heloiza A. Correa hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has been a resident of Miami-Dade County for over 32 years.
She pursued her higher education at Florida International University, where she earned dual bachelor's degrees in political science and international relations. She continued her studies at the University of Miami School of Law, graduating in December 2009.
In March 2010, Heloiza A. Correa began her legal career as a prosecutor at the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office.
During her tenure, she received several promotions and accolades, including recognition from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for her exceptional work with families of victims in a DUI case. Heloiza served her community for three and a half years, gaining extensive litigation experience.
In 2013, Heloiza joined a Miami-based law firm in Brickell, focusing on general business, commercial real estate, commercial litigation, probate, trust, and guardianship litigation. Three years later, she established her own law firm, specializing in commercial litigation, complex business litigation, and construction litigation.
Throughout her career, Heloiza has demonstrated her courtroom expertise, having conducted 33 jury trials to verdict, over 60 bench trials, and participated in numerous mediations.
Heloiza is actively involved with various voluntary bar associations, including the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL), where she co-chaired the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) committee in 2021 and 2022 and served as co-chair for the Judicial Reception Committee in 2022. She is also a member of the League of Prosecutors, the American Bar Association, the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Coral Gables Bar Association.
Additionally, she serves on the Judicial Luminaries & Law Library Gala's Judicial Selection Committee for the Trailblazer award.
Beyond her professional commitments, Heloiza is dedicated to community service. She volunteers at her children's school, the Lotus House, and the Little Lighthouse Foundation.
