Leah Potter, founder of the Sunset Soup Kitchen, comedian, and business owner in Cairns, is running for mayor to address issues related to entertainment precinct activation and its impact on the local economy, employment, and tourism. Despite no government assistance, she has worked tirelessly on social issues, particularly homelessness and poverty, for six years through the Soup Kitchen.

Leah was a finalist for Australian humanitarian of the year. With a background in media law and journalism, and experience as a chef in Port Douglas, Leah has a proven track record of achieving remarkable results for the community, including organizing teams to address major social issues even before government intervention, such as providing hot meals to residents and volunteers immediately after floods.
