In 2015, Pippa and her neighbors successfully challenged their housing association, Clarion, reducing a bill for major works by about 60% after finding their ward Councillors ineffective. This experience propelled her deeper into community-led activism.
Later in 2015, Pippa joined the National Health Action Party, driven by a need to address cuts in local healthcare services and the increasing privatization of the NHS.
Attracted by the Green Party’s commitment to environmental issues and social justice, Pippa transitioned to the party in late 2015. She ran as a candidate in local elections and took on roles such as Merton Green Party’s Election Agent and Membership Secretary.
Since returning to Morden, Pippa has been active in various local campaigns, including efforts to protect local parks and oppose unnecessary tree felling. She successfully led a petition urging the local council to declare a climate emergency and subsequently helped develop a Climate Strategy and Action Plan for Merton.
Pippa was chosen as the London Assembly candidate for Merton and Wandsworth in 2019. She has worked diligently to understand the needs and issues of Wandsworth residents, collaborating with the local Green Party and engaging in public meetings with prominent Green leaders like Sian Berry and Jonathan Bartley.
