Rhonda Hoban OAM, the Mayor of Nambucca Valley Council, was raised on a local farm in the Nambucca Valley. She attended Macksville High School before pursuing higher education at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra.

During her university years, Hoban worked various jobs, gaining valuable insights into the challenges faced by businesses and the complexities of bureaucracy.

Career and Business Experience:

Before entering politics, Rhonda Hoban owned and operated a commercial catering business and managed a single man's camp during the construction of a major dam. Additionally, she worked for both the State and Federal Governments, which provided her with a comprehensive understanding of governmental operations and business challenges.

Rhonda Hoban has been a member of the Nambucca Valley Council for over 17 years. Her extensive experience on the Council has allowed her to contribute significantly to the community's development and well-being.

During her last term, Hoban witnessed several key developments, including the opening of a new hospital and a new TAFE campus, the positive resolution of a disturbance involving a 700-year-old Gumbaynggirr grave site, and the completion of the last section of a four-lane highway. She also oversaw significant improvements to public open spaces and streetscapes, upgrades to community halls, and successfully lobbied for substantial grant funding.
