Who is Rosalie Woodruff?
Dr. Rosalie Woodruff MP is the Leader of the Tasmanian Greens and represents the electorate of Franklin.
As an accomplished epidemiologist, she has focused much of her research on the impacts of climate change on health, contributing to the work of both the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Woodruff's portfolio spans a wide range of areas including Aboriginal Affairs, Animal Welfare, Health, LGBTIQA+, and Climate Safety, among others.
Before her parliamentary career, Woodruff worked in preventive health organizations, advocating for women and the LGBTIQ+ community's health needs. She moved to Tasmania in 2007, where she became an active member of the Huon Valley community, served as a Greens councillor for six years, and established its Arts and Heritage Committee.
Woodruff's journey into the Tasmania House of Assembly began on 19 August 2015, succeeding former Greens MP and Leader, Nick McKim, for the seat of Franklin.
