Palmer has invested in tourism, opening a $10 million Koala Sanctuary in partnership with the local volunteer group, Port Stephens Koalas. Additionally, he is in the design phase for a recently funded $7.5 million Tourism Interchange at Birubi Beach.
Palmer has overseen the repair of over 59,000 potholes, the planting of 5,664 trees with volunteer help, the rollout of 32,000 new garden organics waste bins, and secured funding for the repair and rehabilitation of local roads.
