Who is Tony Mulder?

Tony Mulder is a seasoned professional with a rich background in law enforcement and public service, currently serving as an Eastern Shore Councillor. With a career spanning 38 years, Mulder brings extensive national and state policy and operational experience, notably as a former Police Commander.

He boasts an academic background with a BA in Political Science and Government from the University of Tasmania, graduating in 1987 with distinctions. His achievements include winning a national award for the best policy proposal with "What Would They Know!" focusing on community engagement in crime prevention.

Mulder's career highlights include working as a Senior Investigator for the National Crime Authority in 1988, where he investigated the Painters and Dockers Union's organized crime activities. He played a significant role in Project Baton in 1993, enhancing productivity within the Tasmania Police by redesigning business processes.

As Commander Executive Support in 1998 and Operations Support in 2000, he managed strategic projects and police support services, respectively. In 2002, as the State Security Director, Mulder developed Tasmania’s counter-terrorism capabilities and advised on national security policy.

Transitioning to a Clarence Council Alderman in 2005, he shifted from a state security director to a proactive city alderman, focusing on community representation, chamber leadership, and policy reform.
