Jevona C. Fudge is a candidate for Macomb County Probate Judge known for her fairness, compassion, and honesty.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University, alongside a degree in Secondary Education. In 2004, she earned her Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University.
After joining the State Bar of Michigan, Jevona Fudge began her career as a Civil Law Attorney with the Legal Aid and Defender Association-Macomb. In this role, she specialized in probate court proceedings, administrative law hearings, landlord-tenant disputes, debt collections cases, tax issues, and family law matters, primarily assisting low-income clients.
In 2012, Fudge joined the Macomb County Friend of the Court as a Judicial Service Officer. Her work here focused on child support, parenting time, custody issues, and enforcement of court orders issued by the 16th Circuit Court Family Division.
Currently, Jevona serves as Deputy Chief/Assistant Prosecutor in the Cooperative Reimbursement Unit, where she continues her commitment to equal access to justice, diversity, and collaborative and accountable parenting. Her extensive experience on both sides of the justice system allows her to advocate for and effectuate change for underserved and vulnerable populations.
In addition to her legal career, Jevona Fudge is a small business owner. In 2014, she opened a coffee shop in her neighborhood, using her business to uplift the community.
Her contributions were recognized in 2023 when she received the prestigious Spirit of Detroit Award for her service to the community.
Fudge currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Legal Aid & Defender Association, a non-profit organization providing holistic, innovative legal services to improve the quality of life for vulnerable and underserved individuals, families, and communities.
